About the Free the People Community

Matt Kibbe created the Free the People Community so that people like you can engage with our content and have conversations with respect, thoughtfulness, and curiosity. By making this community subscriber exclusive, we are asking for you to have a little skin in the game. That will keep away most of the trolls and haters and keep the level of discourse here at a high standard. You can post whatever you’d like as long as it’s legal by United States law. With that in mind, we have a few simple guidelines. Help us make this community a positive, insightful, and entertaining place to be.

  1. Don’t intimidate, threaten, or harass other members.
  2. Don’t blow up other members’ feeds. If someone isn’t responding to you, let it be.
  3. Don’t post anything that is hateful, threatening, pornographic, or incites violence.
  4. We strongly encourage real names associated with the accounts. Let’s build a real community of real people here.
  5. Don’t post anything that infringes or violates someone else’s rights or otherwise violates the law.
  6. If you are here just to bring chaos, we’ll delete your account. We are trying to clean up the conversation. You’ll get a warning or two but that’s it.
  7. Free the People doesn’t stand by or endorse everything said here.
  8. Post things that aren’t just political. Food, family, sports. Let’s make this a real community.
  9. Know that our system isn’t perfect and isn’t for everyone, and that we’ll evolve with you.
  10. Most importantly, have fun.

About Free the People

Free the People’s mission is simple—to make the values of liberty entertaining, accessible, and human.

Founded in 2016 by Matt Kibbe and Terry Kibbe, Free the People specializes in video production, creative storytelling, and social media engagement. We are building a community of people who believe in the values of freedom, entrepreneurship, individual responsibility, choice, and voluntary cooperation.

We produce documentary films, video web series, and podcasts that illuminate the people and ideas changing the world for the better. We reach audiences across the political spectrum as a rational but passionate voice for liberty.

Free the People has a highly engaged community of nearly 2 million people across our brands and social channels. 75% of people reached by our content are under the age of 45. We have become a lifestyle brand for our community, with merchandise available in our shop—including stickers, posters, books, and apparel. Our community also extends to film festival attendees across the country. Free the People documentaries have been featured in, and taken home awards at, numerous film festivals since 2018.
